Hey, y'all!

Hello! If you’ve stumbled upon our page, nice to meet you! If you’re a friend who’s still interested in hearing what I have to say even though you’ve probably heard it a million times, thanks for hanging out! Hopefully you’ll learn something new.

Ben and I started fête planning co. in June 2017, ready and eager to plan weddings. I had been working under another (super talented) wedding planner for about three years. The last few weddings she had scheduled, she was super preg with her precious baby girl, so, I stepped in and brought Ben along and did her day-of work. On the way home from the last wedding we did for her, we decided to start the business. I think I went home that night, thought of a name, and immediately made a website. We originally expected one or two inquiries that didn’t pan out in about six months. Maybe one booking in the first year. What we got turned out to be so much more fun. It’s now December, only five months since we drove home from a wedding, made up a name, and created a website all in one night. We currently have 14 booked brides, out of 22 active projects. HOLY. COW.

I’m a senior at LSU majoring in sociology, with a minor in women’s and gender studies and english. I hope to graduate in May and start a master’s program in teaching. Ben is a petroleum engineering major, and hopes to procure a full-time job when he graduates in May. This does make time-management a little tricky at times, but we make it work. Planning weddings is something that we both really love, and we don’t plan on leaving the profession any time soon.

My hope is that you take away some inspiration from our planning adventures, struggles, and triumphs. I’ll be sure to spell everything out for you.

I plan to use this blog as a space to talk about, and post pictures of, (and swoon over) the weddings we plan and execute. I do plan to expand it to cover topics that I think I might have a helpful insight on, like being a vegetarian, owning a dog, being in college, running a business, or running a business while being in college, owning a dog, and being a vegetarian.

My hope is that you take away some inspiration from our planning adventures, struggles, and triumphs. I’ll be sure to spell everything out for you.
